Rif Fort and Brionplein

Along the waterfront you will also find historic Rif Fort and Brionplein. This area offers one of the best views across the bay toward Punda and Handelskade. Rif Fort now houses shops and restaurants, while its old walls are a reminder of its original role protecting the entrance to the harbor.

Punda or Otrobanda: which should you visit?

There is no need to choose. Punda offers the classic Curaçao sights, colorful architecture, shopping, markets and terraces. Otrobanda adds street art, historic lanes and a more local, creative atmosphere. Allow at least half a day to explore both; with lunch, a museum or drinks along the way, you can easily spend a full day in Willemstad.
